Hello and welcome to our web site! We are a Christian, home educating, slightly larger than average family – OK realistically we’re twice as large + 1 as your average family in America, but our desire is that through this website, we might encourage other families in some small way. For the most part, we are lifelong residents of the beautiful Ozarks where we have attended our Baptist fellowship for the last 9 years.
Jack , after much prayer and the Lord’s leading, set out on a new adventure in life and began his work in the medical field with a local hospital in 2008. He graduated from the Licensed Practical Nursing program at the local college in the Spring of 2009, and passed his nursing boards the following month. He plans to continue his work at the hospital and to further his education by going to a registered nursing program in the future. He also enjoys playing the guitar and writing poetry.
Dawn has been a full-time homemaker for 10 years, and a intermittent college student on the side working towards an Associates Degree in General Studies. She also enjoys designing web sites as a gift for friends and family, and is self-taught in design, graphics, and development. She is also currently critiquing various home education related products as a freelance (that means unpaid but the free stuff is a huge perk!) reviewer for The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, LLC, and reviewing books for Thomas Nelson Publishers and Dorrance Publishing Company.
In almost 2 decades of marriage the Lord has blessed us with 7 beautiful children thus far:
“Daisy” is 15 years old, and in the 10th grade. She loves to read, write, draw, listen to music, and just have a lot of fun with the family. She is also learning to play the piano quite well and hopes to advance her education in the area of music. |
“Rose” is 14 years old, and in the 8th grade. She enjoys playing the singing, playing volleyball, and writing. She is interested in music as well and is avidly learning to play the guitar. |
“Jake” is 10 years old, and in the 4th grade. His favorite things are riding his bike, playing football and baseball, visiting with friends, and swimming. He also enjoys playing the bass guitar, and is learning to have the same love for music as his older siblings. |
“Beth” is 7 years old, and in the 1st grade. She has a great time playing with her younger siblings (and sometimes the olders ones too!), drawing, making crafts, singing, and likes to help Mama and the older children around the house. We like to call Beth the “little Mama” as she’s taken on the job of playing mama hen with the little ones. I appreciate that she likes to help! |
“Ruthy” is 5 years old, and is in Kindergarten. She and Beth are great friends and love to play baby dolls together. She also enjoys making up songs and stories, wearing bright sparkly costume jewelry, and is very excited about being in school! On the other hand she is also our little tomboy and loves to do outdoor things too! |
“Will” is 3 years old. He likes to do anything that he can do with his big brother Jake even if it gets them both in trouble! That usually includes tracking in mud, getting scratches and scrapes, bothering the cats, and making the dog bark too much. He also has a soft side and enjoys snuggling with Mama or Daddy at bedtime or listening to an older sister read him a book. |
“LuLu” is one year old, and is the epitome of the baby of the family! She gives us so much joy, as do all our children, every single day. She is growing my leaps and bounds and developing her own very distinct personality. Like Ruthy she loves to be a “girly-girl”, but I can already see she has a streak of tomboy as well! |
Spike (our very large dog) is about a year old too, and we also have 2 kitty cats.
