A Not So Average Christian Family - Living, Loving, And Learning Together

Family Resources

Please take the time to visit the following resources! We do have affiliate accounts with some listed where we earn a small amount per sale or sign up, but not all of them!

Companies aren’t listed though unless we use them ourselves or have used them in the past, and can HONESTLY recommend them! Check back to this page often as sometimes the companies we list will have promotional offers so the banners or information will change to reflect that. As we add more items, we’ll break this page up unto categories, but for now one page is enough I think. LOL Enjoy and Happy Shopping!

Christianbook.com
is the online affiliate of Christian Book Distributors, Inc.  the world’s largest distributor of Christian products. In business for over 25 years as a catalog order company, Christian Book Distributors has now built this fast and efficient Web site to allow customers to order directly from their home computers! This is by far one of the websites we visit most often when purchasing books for personal reading and our homeschool!

The Old Schoolhouse Magazine is the largest homeschool magazine in the United States. It is a 200 page high quality magazine that is a great resource for any educator. Home educators are impressed with the quality and relevancy of the magazine and are subscribing daily. We have a subscription and just love it!

I came across homeschoolingbooks.com when I received a catalog in the mail. I was SO excited to see their prices and products at far less than I could get anywhere else! Their shipping is also super reasonable starting at just $4.00! I don’t know how I got on their mailing list but was SO BLESSED that we did and was very pleased with our order!

PBS isn’t just for paperback books, it’s for any books! This is one of my new favorite websites and have gotten lots of home education curriculum! When you list 10 books from your personal collection you get 2 book credits to start with. One book credit allows you to “buy” one book. You don’t pay shipping or anything to receive a book. If someone wants a book on your list, you simply send it to them and you pay for media shipping. So with each person paying their own shipping it balances out. When the person you sent a book to received it, they mark it as such and you get 1 credit for your book. It’s just a great site and too much to say to explain it all, so go check it out and see for yourself! It’s awesome, fun, and free!

AOP has been an award-winning and innovative publisher of Christian educational curriculum for grades K-12 for almost 30 years. Our customers include over a million home education families, students seeking accredited distance learning options, and children needing remedial assistance or a summer enrichment program. As more and more families research the Internet for educational alternatives or tutoring assistance our products have long provided successful solutions for children around the globe! Our family uses Alpha Omega Lifepac curriculum in our home school for most subjects and hope to incorporate more in the future!

Answers in Genesis is an apologetics (i.e., Christianity-defending) ministry, dedicated to enabling Christians to defend their faith and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. We focus particularly on providing answers to questions surrounding the book of Genesis, as it is the most-attacked book of the Bible. We also desire to train others to develop a biblical worldview, and seek to expose the bankruptcy of evolutionary ideas, and its bedfellow, a “millions of years old” earth (and even older universe). The online store has thousands of DVDs, books, posters, and other products that discuss creation, evolution, and Bible at a variety of technical levels. You’ll also find homeschool materials, collectibles, and gifts for the whole family.

Ebates is a shopping site that gives you up to 25% Cash Back every time you shop online. You can shop at over 900 stores including Barnes & Noble.com, Gap, Target, Buy.com and Expedia. Plus you get additional savings with exclusive coupons, free shipping offers, and limited-time sales! Sign up with Ebates today and we’ll each get a $5 bonus when you make your first purchase! I absolutely LOVE this site! I don’t do a ton of online shopping, but I do get anywhere from $5-$10 back each quarter by PayPal for the little that I do! Every little bit helps!

I’m sure you are thinking FREE jewelry? I did too at first, but yes it’s true! Actually the jewelry itself IS free, but you do pay $5.99 shipping on each item you order. You can only order what is being presented on the main screen at the time (4 items), and you can only order in a quantity of 1, so if you want more than 1 of the same thing, you go back through the click and order process. If I’m looking for something as a gift I just keep that screen open and check it periodically.  Still not bad at all in my opinion and I’ve ordered several beautiful items as Christmas or birthday gifts over the last few years since I’ve known about the website and been VERY pleased with every purchase! Some were for my daughters and what we have still looks brand new and every item is truly .925 Sterling Silver.

I love this store especially for discount Bibles! They also have a great $1 category where I’ve been able to find books we need for school. This isn’t a Christian bookstore, but they do have Christian books, so if I am looking for something in particular, this store is usually the first place I look for it.
