I absolutely loved being 7, and I love having a daughter who is 7!
Several weeks ago Beth moved out of the Sunday School class for the younger children in our church, into an all girls’ class for those who haven’t reached their teen years yet, but aren’t quite considered “little” anymore. (insert sniff sniff here!) Tomorrow will be her first outing in the new class, and she’s SO very excited! They are going to the nursing home to sing Christmas carols to the residents and hand out cards, and hopefully give a few hugs and words of hope in the Lord, then they’ll be having a party afterwards.
Beth: (getting out of bed for the 20th time) Mama, can I come in the kitchen?
Me: Yes, Beth..what is it?
Beth: Don’t forget I’m supposed to go to the nursing home tomorrow and then to our party.
Me: Is that TOMORROW Beth?
Beth: Oh yes!!!! (with a huge smile) I’m going to have fun Mama!
Me: Sounds good, and I KNOW you will! I’ll get you there I promise OK, right on time!
Beth: OK Mama, I love you…goodnight!
And with a hug and a kiss she was off to bed with an extra little spring in her step….FOR the 3rd time since bedtime!
I bet she’ll be singing Christmas carols in her sleep tonight! LOL
I love 7!
