Just a few hours ago we had a wonderful time at the home of my husband’s parents! We were also able to visit with his Aunt, as well as his brother’s family, which is always a sweet blessing because we don’t get to see them nearly as much as we’d like during the year. I always love Christmas Eve over there because it reminds me of how we did things when I was growing up. Lots of people, lots of food, lots of chit-chat, and lots of love to go around! Just a very sweet time.
Now it’s 1 o’clock on Christmas morning…my husband is safely at work, all the children are finally (finally, finally LOL) settled down to sleep, and it’s nice and quiet here. I’m still a bit keyed up though to sleep, so here I am blogging for just a moment before heading off to bed.
Our plans for tomorrow today are very simple – we’re going to spend the day just focusing on each other and the Lord. That almost sounds “too” simplistic, but you know, it’s something we rarely do. Our family, like others I’m sure, gets wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life most of the time, so sometimes it is a nice thing to just purposefully be. We’ll read the nativity story from the Bible, have some snacks, and hopefully some wonderful discussions about what the gift of Christ’s birth has meant to our lives.
Now it’s 1:20 and I’m finally starting to get tired, so I am off until another day, but not before wishing all our readers a very Merry CHRISTmas!
Goodnight and God Bless!
