Let It NOT Snow!

As opposed to my post the other day, I now say let it NOT snow! The icky weather started on Thursday evening and I was just able to get out for the first time today (Sunday) to pick up a couple of things at the store.  No big deal to some, and I wouldn’t have minded staying in longer but it was the fact that I “couldn’t” get out that bothered me! The highway is still awful so Jack is stuck in a motel near his work still, but our town roads are fine. Hopefully though stuff will melt off the highway enough today that he’ll be able to make it back in tomorrow morning when his shift is over. I’ll be happy to see him for sure!!

On the PLUS side…we didn’t get ice with this mess of snow! A year ago today we were about 4 days in to sitting in the dark, and had just gotten the water back on when the city connected a generator to the water tower pump. I always thought that by living in town we’d always have water so we got a rude awakening. Another plus side though is that we were much better prepared this year for bad weather, but I’m hoping at this point that this is the end of it. No offense to Northerners, as I’ve been “up North” and it’s lovely, but I want to move further South! Mexico sounds good or maybe somewhere around the tip of South America.

As for our family…we are doing great, and the Lord is good! The children are just growing and growing and I am amazed every day. Daisy and Rose are actively pursuing their interests in music and thinking more about their futures, Jake is learning more every day about playing the bass,  loves just doing “guy stuff”, and is finally becoming more interested in his school work, Beth is becoming more grown up and we joke that she’s our little 40 year old because that’s how she sounds most of the time…in a sweet and caring way but she tends to try to mother everyone, Ruthy is blowing through her Kindergarten school work at the speed of light so she’ll be heading into 1st grade before the year is even over, Will…well he’s Will and definitely has his very own personality.  I think he’s going to be the “techy” of the bunch like his Mama and he’s just oh so sweet, and LuLu is adorable as always! She’s talking very well for almost 18 months old. That always concerned me because of the speech issues with Will we’d not seen in any of our other children, but he’s had just about a complete turn around in that area and I no longer the same concerns. Then there is my husband and I…we’re still just Jack and Dawn with all our quirks – much in love parents to 7 who keep us constantly on our toes!

That’s all for now and I hope everyone has a great day!
