Yes, it’s 1 o’clock in the morning, but I had to post to say that today is Jake’s 10th birthday! WOW! I remember being 10 and it was awesome! :shades With our oldest girls I hadn’t had one bit of morning sickness. I felt so good, that I’d been known to take a pregnancy test well after I’d been confirmed by a doctor, just to make sure I was still pregnant. :blush
With this pregnancy something was definitely different. I was sick morning, noon, night, & then some! My suspicions were confirmed about 6 months into the pregnancy that our precious baby was going to be a boy and I ran right out and bought blue everything because all we’d had up to that point was pink, plus we hadn’t had a baby in the house in 4 years so we were very excited all the way around!
It seems like just yesterday that Jake was born…our long awaited, very first son. My theory on not being sick with girls, and being sick with boys, was thrown out the window with the birth of our 3rd daughter. That story will come next month! :wink
My hubby and I decided to go ahead and take him to the store to get his birthday gift last Wednesday…a brand new bike! Boys love bikes, and he sure needed a new one! He’d rode the rubber right off the tires on his old one, not to mention it had miscellaneous broken parts and pieces, so after doing the calculations it was cheaper to just start over.
Our plans for the day are simple, because we like simple! His siblings and I will be making his favorite ice cream cake, and he and daddy will be cooking some steaks out on the grill for supper. Then Grandma & Grandpa will come over with their goodies for him and just make some nice memories, oh yeah, and enjoy the cake! We’re just looking forward to a really great day!
