A Not So Average Christian Family - Living, Loving, And Learning Together

I’m not writing down everything I eat and do and it’s messing up my Spark People stats. I never mind gentle reminders to ask me if I’ve logged my information. I don’t consider it nagging, it’s accountability.

So anyone who feels led to leave a comment (I get them all by email no matter where you post on the blog) , please feel free to do so, and thank you in advance!

When God’s power is manifested in the world, in his creation, or in his people, God is glorified. When we pray that our lives may glorify Him, we are asking that the self may be put down, for it is not possible to show the power of God and at the same time to glorify our flesh. We must be prepared to lose ourselves, whatever that may entail, that God may be all in all. Losing an argument for his sake, losing something we held dear, losing “face,” reputation, a position of power or superiority, losing a claim on someone or on his affection or respect–can these be a part of the answer to our prayer to glorify God in our lives? Assuredly they can, for assuredly the Son Himself laid aside all such assets when He came to do the will of the Father.

I have glorified thee on the earth” (John 17:4 KJV), He said–and that glory was manifested through weakness, loss, and suffering. What a privileged position we are called to share.

Lord, lift up our eyes, away from ourselves and our small losses, up to that glory yet to be revealed. Teach us that it is only out of weakness that we are made strong, only as we suffer that we may reign, only as we lose that we may gain.

Yesterday was my son’s birthday :present: and of course we had cake. I did very well and only had a microscopic slice, but today it was calling my name! I immediately through the large hunk that was left, and flung it outside for the birds to eat. I can’t have my food talking to me you know!? I instead opted for some healthy stir fry veggies! :applause:

So how’s it going at the gym Dawn? I’m SO glad you asked. :silly:

Today was another great workout! I just love walking, and it makes me feel so energetic, BUT I’m still having a hard time actually getting started each day. :dizzy:

I won’t lie and say it’s easy to get up at 5 a.m. It’s not, but it’s necessary! Sometimes it seems like I’m working so very hard, and things are going so slowly, but when I’m honest with myself, I can look back on the previous week and say….I didn’t watch my eating on these days, or I didn’t get enough exercise on those days. I am learning :glasses: and the good thing is this knowledge is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life, and hopefully help and encourage others with.

:?: Why don’t y’all post some comments here about your struggles with healthy living, and how you are overcoming those struggles? I’d love to hear from you! :apple:

Our oldest daughter, had the honor of being included in an art show recently, so I thought I’d take the time to show off her talents! From what we can tell, it’s a mannequin turned puppet on strings. :)
